Because the education level of early childhood teachers has been linked with quality care in numerous research studies, Early Years offers a variety of professional development opportunities to support high-quality services and actively encourages providers to enroll in early childhood courses at local community colleges or universities.
Early Years has been approved as an accredited provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are administered through the Professional Development-Continuing Education and Training Department (PD-CE/T). The purpose of PD-CE/T is to improve educational learning opportunities through strategic learning event design, planning, marketing, assessments and evaluation.
Its purpose is aligned with Early Years’ Goal of “Building capacity and support for the workforce to promote equitable, affordable access to quality early care and education for children and families.” This will be accomplished by improving administrative and teacher practices through coaching, technical assistance and training. Using the ANSI/IACET Standard, the PD-CE/T Department is committed to maintaining a quality training program for continuous improvement and a superior learning experience for its adult learners.
