Join Early Years, a member of Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA), and one of the lead agencies of the NC CCR&R Council [1] in saying thank you to providers for taking care of our nation’s children.
Child Care Provider Appreciation Day is annually celebrated on the Friday before Mother’s Day. The special day recognizes child care providers, teachers, family child care home providers and other educators of young children.
Our child care providers remained the engine that allowed our communities to continue during this pandemic year. Schools closed and set up remote learning. Head Start programs closed and also set up remote learning. Child care programs and family child care homes remained open to ensure that our hospitals, grocery stores and other essential places had employees to serve our communities.
Our child care community has always been essential. In March of 2020, North Carolina recognized statewide the reality of this. The pandemic has underscored how essential child care is. Child care provides opportunities for families to go to work, children to learn, businesses to operate and the economy to grow.
Child care providers deserve a big “Thank you” for their dedication, commitment and compassion.
